Scout is a 7 year old westie mix. She loves attention. She does not like men. Clearly she has trust issues, but positive interactions have helped her feel safe. She has skin allergies that will require lifelong medication to control them. She needs a weekly bath to help the skin condition. She has some bald areas that may never recover from her skin problems. But she is beautiful anyway. Additionally, she has a heart murmur (it does not effect her at all).
Scout loves interacting with her foster mom and loves her multiple walks daily. She is a fantastic watchdog. She loves to look out the window and watch the outside world. She will let you know if anyone is near her yard. Unfortunately, she does not tolerate other dogs so she will need to be an only dog child. She is very devoted and worth considering as an addition to a household with only female occupants.
She is self entertaining and loves to “kill” her Lambchop toys. She is very protective of what is hers. Given that, she can be reactive to anyone who kicks or moves her bed or babies with their feet. Moving slowly when she is otherwise occupied works well.

Updates
UPDATE 1/12/2025. Scout has been working on her interactive skills with her foster parents. She can sit for treats and pills. Scout is completely house trained. If she doesn’t like a food she will take it to her bed and abandon it there.
She is still protective of her toys (her babies). She loves her daily walks throughout the neighborhood even in the cold. She now wears a jacket to show off her lovely white coat.
Scouts skin condition has stabilized with baths and daily medication. She is fine with the baths. Scout prefers being an only dog. She loves to climb on the back of the couch and slide down her foster mom’s front for attention. She learns quickly and is a great watch dog.
