Arlene
More About Arlene
Arlene is such a precious little girl that will bring someone so much love and happiness. She’s a young Mini Schnauzer mix. Her sweet soft eyes are sure to grab your attention right away. She does well with other dogs and cats.
She’s improving on her house training (uses potty pads while in her play pen). She likes going outside to explore in the yard with my pups.
She’s a pretty quiet girl when out and about, she likes to be in the same room with you and she’ll usually get up to follow you if you leave the room.
Though she’s a young girl she was diagnosed with a Grade III/VI left sided heart murmur. Which means she will need a family that will continue with her 6 month/yearly vet visits to keep watch of any progression in her heart murmur.
Updates
UPDATE 2/14/2025: Arlene is a 21 month old mini schnauzer mix. She’s a sweet girl who has settled nicely into her foster home. She’s fabulous with the other dogs and does very well with the cat.
She stays in a dog play pen during the day when I’m at work and she sleeps there during the night. It seems to be her safe place. If left open, you are sure to find her cuddled up there in her dog bed! She doesn’t jump on furniture, she waits for you to pick her up or she uses the doggy stairs to get on the bed.
She’s a quiet girl, who becomes affectionate once she knows and trusts you. When she finds “her” human she bonds very well with that person. She will come for love and snuggles.
She doesn’t interact much with toys. Occasionally, you’ll see her carry one around with her.
She’s improving with her housetraining. She can usually go 4-6 hrs sometimes 8 without a problem. She is potty pad trained though, so that helps when she has to go when you’re not home.
Her heart murmur has stayed the same and she is showing no clinical signs of problems. She’s a happy healthy little girl!
Arlene would do best in a quieter home without a lot of traffic! One where she can bond with her person/people. She would do fine with or without another dog. She’s pretty content either way.
