Transporting A Sick or Injured Dog
If you're driving a sick or injured dog to the vet's, you should make the trip
as easy as possible. If possible, have someone else drive -- that way, you can
stay in the back seat with your pet. Your presence may comfort and calm him. If
you're transporting a larger dog and you suspect he has
broken bones or internal injuries, try to move him either on a board or a
blanket. Blankets have the advantage that they're easy to access in an
emergency, and can be used in the car to provide warmth for your dog.
